RSNO welcomes new members to its Board of Directors Posted Fri 29 September 2023
The Royal Scottish National Orchestra (RSNO) has announced the appointment of John Stewart, Julia Miller (as Company Secretary), Don Macleod, Ken Hay and David Strachan to its Board of Directors.
The Board continues to work to support the Orchestra’s engagement with hundreds of thousands of people every year, nationally and internationally, in person and online. From a variety of professional backgrounds Stewart, Miller, Macleod, Hay and Strachan will work with the RSNO to maximise its diverse offering using their unique combination of experience. The Board also welcomes two new player directors, Principal Trumpet Christopher Hart and Principal Flute Katherine Bryan, who bring their wealth of knowledge as professional musicians to the group.
Dame Susan Bruce DBE, Chair of the RSNO Board of Directors said: “We are looking forward to working with John, Ken, Don, Julia and David who all bring valuable expertise to the Board. We benefit from working with a team from a variety of industries enabling us to draw from pool of transferable knowledge to further the work of Scotland’s National Orchestra.
“We’re extremely grateful to Linda Holden, Jane Wood, Gurjit Singh Lalli, Gordon Murray, Helen Brew and Paul Philbert who are all retiring from the Board this year. Their commitment to the Board has been unwavering as we have seen both challenging times and also great success during this period, and it wouldn’t have been possible without their hard work.”
