RSNO launches its ‘Noisy Library’ for children of all ages Posted Mon 18 December 2023
The Royal Scottish National Orchestra (RSNO) announces the launch of its collection of musical stories for children of all ages. The RSNO’s Noisy Library delivers musical education resources to families for use at home, in complement to the RSNO’s educational delivery in Scottish schools via Charanga. Families will be able to join their children in exploring materials tailored for primary-age groups ranging from 0-12.
The Noisy Library includes: the RSNO’s Astar app, distributed as part of the Scottish Government’s Baby Box scheme since 2016; Yoyo & The Little Auk concert film and learning resources, aimed at children from nursery to Primary 3; Once Upon a Tune concert film and learning resources, aimed at children from Primary 5-7; and the RSNO Beginners Guide series, featuring initial introductions to learning to play flute, oboe, bassoon and trumpet. Future digital education resources will be added to the Noisy Library (and to Charanga’s website) as they are released over the coming years.
“We are thrilled to launch the RSNO’s Noisy Library, where stories and music meet for the children of Scotland,” said RSNO Director of Engagement Andy Stevenson. “Music aids creativity, focus and social skills in childhood development. As a proven specialist in the production of digital music education resources, the RSNO is delighted to open up this suite of online content to all Scottish families; providing access to quality music education for free to inspire the next generation.”
