When the RSNO comes to play, everyone is welcome! In our special lunchtime concert, join presenter Gillian Moore as she introduces young and old alike to the wonders of classical music with Scotland’s National Orchestra.

RSNO section principal Nikita Naumov stars in this celebration of the double bass with Koussevitzky’s revered concerto. Although known for his tenure as music director of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Koussevitzky began his career as a touring double bass virtuoso. His love for the instrument is undeniable through his concerto; full of lush, sweeping melodies – it is heartachingly beautiful. With Gillian Moore guiding you and Mozart providing some jollity with his Symphony No35; it’s an hour of pure escapism.

This concert is part of the Scottish Bass Trust’s Festival. For more information on the Festival, please visit scottishbasses.com
